New commander of Russia's 58th 'mountain' army appointed

The new commander of the 58th army, located in the North Caucasus, is
Major-General Andrey Valeryevich Kartopolov, replacing
Lieutenant-General Anatoliy Khruliov, who has retired, RIA Novosti
reports, citing a source in the 58th army.


The order was signed several days ago. In April 2006 Khruliov was
appointed the commander of the army in Vladikavkaz.
