The Russian Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary Ambassador to Armenia, Vyacheslav Kovalenko, is confident that agreements reached at the Russian-Armenian interregional forum will attract investments to Armenia, ARKA reports.

The ambassador said that 28 deals were signed at the forum. They concern bilateral ties in various spheres.

The first Russian-Armenian interregional forum entitled “To New Achievements of Interregional Cooperation in Russian-Armenian Allied Relations” was held in Yerevan on April 18-19, supported by the administrations of the Russian and Armenian presidents.

21 Russian regions sent their officials to the forum. Over 300 officials, representing private business, willing to have economic and humanitarian links, arrived for the meeting. Russian regions signed agreements with Armenia.

An exhibition of products of both countries was held.

A similar forum will be hosted by a Russian region or Armenia next year.

Russia invested about $3 billion in Armenia in 2001-2010, $2.3 billion of which was direct investment. Armenia has 1,277 companies with Russian capital.
