Prince William and his bride Kate Middleton will have a royal wedding at Westminster Abbey in London. Hundreds of thousands of will go on the streets to see the event, ITAR-TASS reports.
According to protocol, leaders of foreign states were not invited to the event. Members of other royal families of Europe and other regions of the world and heads of former British colonies recognizing Queen Elizabeth II as head of the state were invited.
About 2,000 guests started arriving at the abbey at 8.15 (local time). The ceremony starts at 11.00 (local time).
The marriage cortege will start at Buckingham Palace going past Whitehall, Downing Street and entering Parliament Square. The procession will then return to Buckingham Palace.
The procession will arrive at the palace at 12.30 (local time). William and Catherine will appear on the balcony at 13.25 to greet the public. The Royal Air Force will fly over Buckingham Palace at 13.30. 300 guests will attend the evening reception at 19.00.

Thousands of people have been trying to see the procession with their own eyes. Balconies were leased on a short-term basis in London, as well as roofs and rooms. Some of the best places to view the procession were rented for $160,000.


A whole tent camp appeared by Westminster Abbey. The first person in the camp was John Lafry, 56, a loyal fan of Princess Diana.


About 1.1 million tourists have arrived, exceeding the average number by 600,000 at this time of the year. 5,000 police officers will enforce security.


The wedding was announced on November 16, 2010. William and Catherine met in 2001, while studying at Saint Andrews University in Scotland. The engagement took place in Kenya in October 2010. William presented the ring of his mother, Princess Diana.


After the wedding Catherine will wear a different ring. The gold for the ring was brought to Queen Elizabeth in 1986.


The marriage will be broadcast to 2 billion viewers from all over the world.
