Armenia preparing for census in October

Armenia is preparing for the October census. The majority of regulations have already been approved, while funds are still being sought, News-Armenia reports.

Issues related to this major event for the country were discussed on Friday at a meeting of the State Commission for the preparation and conduct of the census, held under the chairmanship of Deputy Prime Minister of Armenia and Minister of Territorial Administration Armen Gevorgyan.

According to official information of the Armenian Police, from 24 December 2010 to April 2011 it has checked 12,118 addresses. The Vice Premier said that checking procedures will be completed by 1 June.
