US is concerned about economic situation in Armenia

Chairman of the National Assembly of Armenia Hovik Abrahamian received today, April 29, Deputy Assistant Secretary of USA Tina Kaidanov.

According to the press service of the National Assembly, Hovik Abrahamyan stressed the importance of such visits in terms of continuing a comprehensive and multifaceted dialogue between the countries. He praised the level of current relations between the two countries and thanked the US for assistance in various fields. Abrahamyan expressed willingness to further strengthen and develop the Armenian-American cooperation. In this context, he stressed the importance of inter-parliamentary cooperation.

In her turn, the US Deputy Assistant Secretary for European and Eurasian Affairs praised relations between the two countries and stressed the importance of their further development. She stated the importance of continuing the process of democratization and reforming the Electoral Code. At the same time, she expressed concerns about the economic situation of the republic and noted that the US intends to contribute towards the progress of Armenia.
