US to present bin Laden's DNA analysis

US specialists will study DNA to confirm elimination of Al Qaeda leader Osama bin Laden. Results will be ready in a few days, Russia-24 reports.

A state official told Reuters that bin Laden was identified by the special forces in Abbotabad. The terrorist leader was shot in the head.

The official also said that the operation lasted some 40 minutes. Director of the Central Intelligence Agency Leon Panetta was monitoring the operation at the CIA Headquarters in Washington.

CNN reported that Osama bin Laden was killed in Pakistan on May 1. He was buried according to Muslim traditions. He was not buried in earth to avoid turning his grave site into a pilgramage area, RIA Novosti reports.

US President Barack Obama did not clarify where bin Laden's remains are.
