US congressmen visit Adzharia

A delegation of US congressmen have paid a two-day visit to Adzharia, Georgia Online reports.

The congressmen had several meetings, including talks with the president and premier. The delegation visited Inguri and viewed the administrative border.

The results of the visit were announced at a briefing prior to departure. The US officials underlined that their country supports Georgian sovereignty and democratic development. They thanked Georgia for participation in the peacekeeping operation in Afghanistan.

The delegation consisted of four Republicans and two Democrats. They were assisted by the Georgian Deputy Secretary of the Security Council Batu Kutelia.
