Azeri national among injured in Derbent explosion

Three policemen and five civilians were injured by an explosion in the

city of Derbent, one woman passed away in  hospital, RIA NOVOSTI
reports, quoting a source in the law-enforcement agencies of the
republic. Trend reports that 49 year-old Fikret Shirinbala oglu
Mamedov from the Khachmaz district of Azerbaijan was among the
injured, with a shrapnel wound to the left knee, and has been
hospitalized in Derbent.

Seven people had earlier been reported injured. The explosion took
place at 20.55 on a platform at the station, when a train from Samur
arrived in Derbent. The device had been placed in a bin at the

entrance to the station. "Three policemen born in 1973, 1971 and 1983

have been injured, in addition to five civilians", an agency source
said.
