Iran increases capacity to enrich uranium
Read on the website Vestnik KavkazaAgainst the backdrop of U.S. plans to restore sanctions against Tehran, Iran has increased its capacity to enrich uranium, according to the Atomic Energy Organization of Iran (AEOI).
"Whether the dispute resolution mechanism (due to which it is possible to restore sanctions) will be involved or the current situation will continue, one way or another, the Atomic Energy Organization has taken great steps to ensure 190 thousand SWU," RIA Novosti cited the AEOI as saying.
Earlier, U.S. President Donald Trump said that U.S. Secretary of State Mike Pompeo will travel to New York City to notify the United Nations Security Council that the United States will initiate the process to restore UN sanctions on Iran
After the U.S. exited the nuclear deal in 2018, Iran's Supreme Leader Ayatollah Seyed Ali Khamenei ordered that the Atomic Energy Organization of Iran (AEOI) to prepare for the enrichment of uranium up to a level of 190 000 SWU.
