Azerbaijan doesn’t plan to create joint customs post with Iran

The project of a joint Azerbaijani-Iranian customs office encounters too many legal difficulties, the Azerbaijani State Customs committee said, Trend reports.


For example, Azerbaijani law stipulates that only Azerbaijani citizens can exercise customs control over imported goods. Also, the question of the location of the new station (whether it should be on Azerbaijani or Iranian soil) is hard to settle. Some other legal issues also exist.
