40 million tons of oil per year to be produced in Russian sector of Caspian Sea

According to prospecting data, the reserves of the Russian part of the Caspian offshore shelf are 2.95 billion tons of oil and more than 3.1 billion cubic meters of gas, Prime-TASS reports.

There are 10 discovered oilfields in the Russian sector of the Caspian Sea. These fields can offer some 40 million tons of oil per year, Russian deputy Prime Minister Sergey Ivanov told the press.
