In Moscow, after a large-scale renovation, the North River Terminal was opened. The terminal is an architectural monument of the 1930s and an example of the Stalinist style. It has long become one of Moscow’s symbols.

The terminal was constructed between 1933 and 1937 along with the Moscow-Volga Canal (today the Moscow Canal). With the building of the canal, the capital was named ”the port of five seas”. Thanks to the system of canals, the river vessels can reach The Caspian Sea, The Black Sea, The Sea of Azov, the Baltic Sea and The White Sea.
