Where will Azerbaijan go next in Karabakh?
Read on the website Vestnik KavkazaAzerbaijan will soon put an end to the Karabakh war by liberating Kelbajar and Lachin, military expert Uzeyir Jafarov said during an interview with the Vestnik Kavkaza correspondent, commenting on the advancement of the Azerbaijani army, which liberated the city of Gubadli and took the straight road to the Lachin corridor, the main channel for supplying the occupants of Karabakh with troops, weapons and supplies.
"According to the official information of the Azerbaijani Defense Ministry, the Azerbaijani army is already on the territory of the Lachin region. One can predict that the Lachin corridor will definitely be taken under the full control of the Azerbaijani armed forces, it has almost happened. The fact is that the Armenian armed forces are completely demoralized, they are retreating. They have lost more than half of their heavy equipment and artillery installations, a lot of soldiers and officers, regiments and battalions. It is difficult for them to hold on to their previously occupied positions," he said.
"I think that the fate of the Karabakh war can be decided in the next few days. The liberation of Gubadli and villages in the Gubadli region, an access to the Lachin region give Azerbaijan a military advantage, which allows further de-occupation of Kelbajar, and all other settlements that were under the control of the Armenian armed forces. Everything is going according to plan now, the armed forces of Azerbaijan have no problems. We have enough military units and formations to fulfill any task," Uzeyir Jafarov said.
"The capture of the Lachin corridor is almost a passed stage. After the supply of the Armenian occupation forces is blocked, the advance towards Shusha will begin in the coming days. Nikol Pashinyan should have made a decision to surrender a long time ago to avoid the death of young, inexperienced Armenian guys. They can no longer change the situation, so the Armenian authorities should at least save their lives," the military expert urged.
"All our territories, up to the Armenian-Azerbaijani border, will be deoccupied. In particular, on the territory of the Kelbajar region, Azerbaijani troops are now successfully fulfilling their tasks - they are liberating settlements there up to Kelbajar, as it has already been done in the southern direction in the case of Fizuli, Jabrayil, Zangilan and Gubadli," Uzeyir Jafarov concluded.
