Memory of soviet soldiers honored throughout the world
Read on the website Vestnik KavkazaThe Victory Day celebrations took place on May 9 all around the world, from Belgrade to Mexico.
In Kiev the day was celebrated by a Victory Parade. A joint parade took place in Sevastopol, and was attended by sailors of the Russian Black Sea Fleet and Naval Forces of Ukraine. Veterans in Belarus took part in a Victory parade in the center of Minsk, and laid wreaths at the Victory monument.
Thousands of people gathered at the monument to the Liberator Soldier in Riga.
In Baku, veterans were solemnly congratulated by president Ilham Aliyev.
Russia's Ambassador to Germany Vladimir Grinin congratulated veterans on the Victory Day in Berlin/
Ceremonies dedicated to the 66th anniversary of Victory Day were also held in Warsaw.
Several hundred people gathered on Monday afternoon next to the Soviet memorial in London to pay tribute to the heroism of the Allies and to commemorate the fallen in the World War II.
The traditional ceremony of laying wreaths on graves of Soviet soldiers who died as members of the Belgian Resistance, took place at the Eber cemetry in suburbs of Brussels.
