Police identify suspected murderer of mufti Anas Pshikhachev

Four militants have been killed in a special operation in Nalchik, including Astemir Mamishev, the suspected murderer of the Kabardino-Balkarian Mufti Anas Pshikhachev in December 2010.

Vestnik Kavkaza reported earlier that the militants were blockaded in a houses in the center of Nalchik.

The militants were identified as Astemir Mamishev, Ruslan Fedyanovich, Anatoly Ozrokov and Nadezhda Petruchenya, Interfax reports.

The owner of the apartment were the militants were jumped out of the window when the operation started.

The National Counter-Terrorism Committee said that a laboratory for production of explosives was found in the apartment. A bomb equivalent to 8 kg of TNT was found. A map of Nalchik with marks on infrastructure facilities was found at the place, RIA Novosti reports.

A criminal case was initiated on infringement on life of police officers and illegal arms trafficking.
