Karabakh Armenians: our friendship with Azerbaijanis to surely endure (VIDEO)
Read on the website Vestnik KavkazaVestnik Kavkaza has received archival footage proving the desire of the Karabakh people living under the occupation of Armenian troops to resolve the Nagorno-Karabakh conflict peacefully and restore the old good-neighborly relations with Azerbaijani people.
First, a resident of Hadrut emphasizes that Armenians and Azerbaijanis lived side by side in Karabakh in peace. "It was not the Karabakh Armenians or the Azerbaijanis who did it all - it was an order from above. And what could an illiterate people do? We were told that if we join Armenia, our life will be better, they said everything will be fine. And then it turns out that people live large in Azerbaijan, and we have nothing," he notes.
The video also shows a resident of Askeran who in a conversation with fellow countrymen is expressing confidence in the return of peace between Armenians and Azerbaijanis if the conflict is resolved. "If the issue is positively resolved, our friendship will surely endure," he says, giving an example of what good relations they had before.
"I told about things I think, things I saw. I had an accident in Aghdam, and some Azerbaijani man hid the car in his yard so that the traffic police would not see it. Isn't this friendship? The enemy does not help the enemy," he said.
Everyone who considers themselves involved in the settlement of the Nagorno-Karabakh conflict should know that from the very beginning not all Karabakh Armenians supported the separation of Nagorno-Karabakh Autonomous Region from Azerbaijan SSR, many of them believed that the conflict would be quickly resolved and Armenians and Azerbaijanis will live in peace on the same territory again. People like that will become the basis for restoring peace in the South Caucasus.
