The main achievement of the ceasefire in the disputed region of Nagorno-Karabakh is the fact that "cannons are silent", Kremlin spokesman Dmitry Peskov said.

"We need to ask military experts," he said when asked how the Kremlin evaluates the first week of the Nagorno-Karabakh peace. "However, we primarily need to focus on the fact that cannons are silent. This is the main achievement. People are not dying. This is the most valuable thing there can be."

The Kremlin spokesman underlined that the main thing for Russia now is to be interested in how to preserve the recently established peace in the disputed region and secure return of all displaces persons as well as refugees and monitor the preservation of the peace, TASS reported.

On November 9, Russian President Vladimir Putin, Azerbaijani President Ilham Aliyev and Armenian Prime Minister Nikol Pashinyan signed a joint statement on a complete ceasefire in Nagorno-Karabakh. The Russian leader said the Azerbaijani and Armenian sides would remain on the positions they hold and Russian peacekeepers would be deployed to the region. Besides, Armenia and Azerbaijan should carry out the exchange of prisoners of war and the bodies of those killed. Aghdam region will be returned to Azerbaijan before November 20, Kelbajar region - before November 15, Lachin region - before December 1.
