Heydar Aliyev Foundation starts restoring religious monuments in liberated Azerbaijani lands
Read on the website Vestnik KavkazaThe Heydar Aliyev Foundation has launched a project on the restoration of religious monuments and mosques in liberated Azerbaijani lands, the First Vice-president of Azerbaijan, President of the Heydar Aliyev Foundation Mehriban Aliyeva wrote on her Instagram page.
She stressed that every Azerbaijani citizen watches the current situation in liberated territories with heartache: during these years, Armenian aggressors destroyed cities and regions, residential and administrative buildings, all infrastructure, looted natural resources, and vandalized religious, historical, cultural monuments. "There are no traces of improvement in the Karabakh region which were a charming corner of Azerbaijan," the first vice-president said.
Mehriban Aliyeva assured that under the leadership of President Ilham Aliyev, the entire Karabakh region will be turned into one of the most beautiful regions of Azerbaijan. "Here life will revive, all of our regions will be restored, our citizens will live and create in their native lands," the first lady said.
She recalled that the Heydar Aliyev Foundation has been implementing projects and programs, covering different fields in Azerbaijan from the first day of its functioning. The Foundation’s activity aimed at the maintenance and restoration of historical, cultural, and religious monuments is clear to all.
"Today I want to tell you with pride that the Heydar Aliyev Foundation starts a project on the restoration of our religious monuments, mosques in ancient Karabakh territories, which are the national heritage of the Azerbaijani people. Restoration, conservation, and reconstruction of our sacred places in the region will be carried out with the participation of local and foreign specialists within the framework of the project. Relevant works on the restoration of religious praying places in Shusha city and Aghdam district, subjected to destruction during occupation years, have already been started," Mehriban Aliyeva stressed.
The First Vice-president of Azerbaijan assured that Azerbaijani sacred religious places, brutally destroyed, made a barn by Armenians once, will revive again, azan will be heard in all mosques in Karabakh territory, prayers will be sounded.
