Armenian opposition proposed to create union state with Russia

The opposition Alliance party believes that all the problems of Armenia can be solved as quickly as possible by forming a union state with Russia, the party’s leader, Tigran Urikhanyan, said at the extraordinary congress of the party.

“Many people ask if this implies Armenia’s joining Russia. No! It means forming an interstate union based on the logic of developments. In this case, Armenia remains a member of the UN, a sovereign and independent country that strengthens its army and conducts foreign policy. Other conversations are conducted due to the illiteracy, " Sputnik Armenia quotes the oppositionist as saying.

He stressed that in the current crisis situation Armenia needs concrete support from Russia, and such cooperation requires the maximum possible mutual integration.
