Opposition tries not to let Pashinyan board flight to Moscow
Read on the website Vestnik KavkazaArmenian Prime Minister Nikol Pashinyan was able to get to Zvartnots International Airport to visit Moscow for trilateral talks with the participation of Russian and Azerbaijani Presidents Vladimir Putin and Ilham Aliyev.
This morning, opposition activists blocked the road to the airport to prevent Pashinyan from boarding the flight. One of the protesters stressed that "Nikol Pashinyan is an illegitimate leader," so the documents he signed in Moscow will have no legal force tomorrow. In addition, the opposition stated that if the prime minister signs any documents at the trilateral meeting, the airspace of Armenia will be closed for him.
Former Deputy Chief of Staff of the Parliament Arsen Babayan also said Pashinyan does not represent Armenia and Karabakh. Homeland Salvation movement leader Vazgen Manuky shares the same point of view. He claims that Pashinyan does not have the mandate to make decisions.
The activists chanted "Nikol is a traitor". The prime minister managed to drive along the road to the airport 10 minutes before the demonstration started, Sputnik Armenia reported.
Soon the protest ended and the road was unblocked.
