Construction of country's largest port begins in Turkey

Construction of the largest port in Turkey has been launched, TRT television reports. The port of Chandarly will be built in the north Aegean region, and will become one of the top ten largest ports in the world.

The first ship will arrive at the port in 2013.

Transport Minister Soluk said that the new port will contribute to the Turkish maritime industry. Binali Yildirim said that this project will realize a dream he had had for 30 years. Yildirim also promised to complete the project 150 days earlier than the date mentioned in the contract and commission it in 750 days.
