Turkey urges US to give Assad more time for reforms

Turkey believes Bashar al-Assad should be given more time to carry out substantial reforms in Syria, Hurriyet Daily News reports.

“We want a smooth transformation and an orderly transition,” a senior Turkish Foreign Ministry official told journalists after a meeting between Turkish Prime Minister Recep Tayyip Erdoğan and US Ambassador to Turkey.

Turkey underlined that any untimely intervention would be unwelcome.
