Moscow Region returning to normal life, most restrictions lifted
Read on the website Vestnik KavkazaAlmost all coronavirus-related restrictions imposed in the Moscow Region have been lifted, the region is returning to normal life, Moscow Region Governor Andrei Vorobyov said.
"Essentially, all restrictions have been lifted. Restrictions on mass events remain in place, but one can attend sports events under the condition that people comply with certain modern standards," he said at a meeting with deputy prime ministers and the heads of urban districts.
"Therefore, we are actually going over to our regular work, and, of course, the economy is of paramount importance for life of our region," TASS cited the mayor as saying.
The Moscow Region ranks third in Russia after Moscow and St. Petersburg in the number of infected people. A total of 200,203 coronavirus cases have been confirmed there, including 912 in the past 24 hours. So far, 161,059 patients have recovered, and 4,036 people have died.
Vorobyov earlier said that the Moscow Region would lift all restrictions imposed over COVID-19 if the number of confirmed coronavirus cases dropped to less than 900 per day.
