Boris Johnson will aim to lift all coronavirus restrictions by the end of June as part of a gradual road map for exiting England’s nationwide lockdown, Financial Times informs. The prime minister’s long-awaited easing plan, published in a 60-page document on Monday, contains four stages for ending the harsh social distancing restrictions that will take place over a four-month period.

According to Financial Times, Johnson told MPs in a statement that his road map was “cautious” and “a one-way road to freedom”. The prime minister said that infections would rise due to easing the lockdown but the government was hopeful of controlling it. “There is no route to a zero Covid Britain, or indeed a zero Covid world,” he added.
