Russian president calls Southern Stream priority for EU

Russian President Dmitry Medvedev expects the Southern Stream gas pipeline project to become a priority for the European Union, he said after a meeting with the Austrian president, RIA Novosti reports.

The pipeline will run through the Black Sea to Southern and Central Europe.

Russian Deputy Energy Minister Anatoly Yanovsky said earlier that Russia would hold a presentation of Southern Stream in Brussels on May 25.
