Minister: 18.8 mln Russians live in poverty
Read on the website Vestnik KavkazaThe number of Russians with incomes below the subsistence level amounted to 18.8 mln people in the third quarter of 2020, Labor and Social Protection Minister Anton Kotyakov said.
The amount of unemployed in Russia registered with employment centers currently stands at 2.1 million people.
The highest rate of unemployment in 2020 among the working-age population was 6.4% - 3.7 mln people.
The population of Russia is approximately 146 million people.
In July 2020, Russian President Vladimir Putin set a goal to halve the country's poverty rate compared to 2017 by 2030.
