New head of Georgian government administration appointed
Read on the website Vestnik KavkazaGeorgian Prime Minister Irakli Garibashvili has appointed Georgia’s former Ambassador to Poland Ilia Darchiashvili as the new head of the administration of the government of Georgia.
Darchiashvili, 40, will replace Kakheber Kemokidze in the post.
Darchiashvili is an experienced diplomat, according to the government of Georgia press office. He is a graduate of Ivane Javakhishvili Tbilisi State University and holds a Master of Business Administration from Grenoble Business School, France.
Darchiashvili became Georgia’s ambassador to Poland in 2017. Prior to that, in 2016-2017, he was Georgia’s ambassador extraordinary and plenipotentiary to Poland. Between 2003 and 2012 he worked in the Georgian banking sector.
Darchiashvili was the first deputy head of Georgia’s Municipal Development Fund in 2014-2015, while in 2015-2016 he served as deputy minister of the regional development and infrastructure, Agenda.ge reported.
