Armenia invites Turkey and Azerbaijan to take part in Bologna Process

Armenian Minister for Education and Science Armen Ashotyan invited Turkish and Azerbaijani officials to take part in processes as co-chairs of the Bologna Process, News Armenia reports.


Armenia and Polan will be the co-chairs of the Bologna Process from July 1 to December 31, 2011.


The International Student Summer School will be organized for July 3-10. An international conference on financing higher education will be held on September 8-9.


Armenia joined the Bologna Convention in 2005, taking obligations to switch the education system. 45 states, including Russia, Azerbaijan, Georgia, Moldova and Ukraine, are using the system.


Armenia approved the schedule of realization of the system on November 2, 2006. It is developing the national certification system, new list of specializations and models of training bachelors and masters. It is also reconsidering the schedules of adopting new credit systems, new budget schemes and financing models, simulation of research.
