Zarif: Azerbaijan can play historic role in bringing peace to region

Iran's Minister of Foreign Affairs Mohammad Javad Zarif was received by President of Azerbaijan Ilham Aliyev in Baku today.

"Now you can play a historic role in bringing peace to the region, and we want to commend you for expressing your desire to achieve peace with Armenia," AzerTAc cited Zarif as saying.

He praised Azerbaijan for its overtures to make peace with Armenia and stated that beside ensuring peace, Tehran is also ready to take part in the reconstruction of Karabakh.
