An asteroid, classified as "potentially dangerous" would approach Earth on May 27, NASA says on its website.

According to the space agency, the massive space rock, dubbed 2021 JF1, is zooming through the galaxy at 38,000mph according to NASA's NEO Earth Close Approaches list and will pass close to Earth on May 27.

NASA says that the estimated diameter of 2021 JF1 is between 95 and 210m, potentially making it bigger than the Statue of Liberty in New York which stands 93m high, Daily Star reported.
