Georgian Foreign Ministry hosts Georgia-EU subcommittee meeting
Read on the website Vestnik KavkazaThe Georgian Foreign Ministry has held the 10th meeting of the
Georgia-EU subcommittee for cooperation in economy, trade and related
issues. The Georgian side was supervised by Tea Akhvlediani, Director
of the Department for European Integration of the Foreign Ministry,
the European - by Luc Pierre Devigne, head of Unit "Trade aspects of
European neighbourhood policy. Trade relations with countries of the
CIS and Balkans", Trend reports.
Officials from the related Georgian structures, European Commission,
EU Service for Foreign Policy and Integration were at the meeting.
The sides discussed Georgian reforms in trade and economics in recent
years, including promotion of macroeconomic development, investments,
cooperation in tax and customs spheres. Special attention was paid to
free trade with the EU.
The EU praised Georgia for the reforms and progress. They talked about
the further support of Georgia.
The subcommittee is a format of a diplomatic dialogue on cooperation
of the EU. The subcommittee consists of experts that meet annually.
