Amnesty declared in Armenia

An amnesty declared by the Armenian president to mark the 20th anniversary of the country's independence has come into effect, Novosti-Armenia reports.

The Armenian parliament approved the bill proposed by the president during today's meeting. It is the 9th time an amnesty has been declared in Armenia.
