Mourning for President Bagapsh declared in Abkhazia

Mourning for the late President Bagapsh has been declared in Abkhazia. The state flag on the building of the presidential administration has been lowered. All programs were cancelled on state television.

In South Ossetia, which was going to mark its Independence Day, all celebrations were cancelled. The President of the country, Eduard Kokoity, expressed his condolences to the Abkhazian people.

So did the editor-in-chief of the Vestnik Kavkaza news agency, Dr. Alexey Vlasov. According to him, President Bagapsh was a remarkable statesman, during his rule Abkhazia declared independence and was recognized as a sovereign state by the Russian Federation.
