During the first three months of this year, Iran sent  more than 1.8
million tons of crude oil to Turkey and became the largest supplier
oil to the country,  Iran News reports. About 30 percent of Turkey's
crude oil needs  are covered by Iran. The cooperation in the energy
sector is a critical component of economic and trade relations between
the two countries. In addition, Iran is the largest gas supplier to
Turkey after Russia.

Russia used to be the largest supplier of crude oil to Turkey.  At the
moment, however, it occupies only the third place, after Iran and
Iraq.
