Dzhikayev’s murder suspect admits guilt
Read on the website Vestnik KavkazaDavid Murashev, the suspect in the Dzhikayev murder investigation, resisted arrest and was shot by the police in Vladikavkaz on Tuesday. The injury he sustained resulted in his death, however, he admitted his guilt before dying, RIA Novosti reports.
According to Murashev, he killed Shamil Dzhikayev, Dean of the North Ossetian State University, because he had offended the religious feeling of Ossetian Muslims.
Murashev tried to call on all religious Muslims to help him fight his way through a police cordon, and some of them actually answered the call. The police couldn’t risk a wide-scale gunfight in a densely-populated neighborhood of the city, so they had to eliminate Murashev. His accomplices have been detained.
