Iran prepared to suppress any aggression - defense minister

Iranian Defense Minister General-Brigadier Ahmad Vahidi said that Iran
is ready to suppress US aggression against it, SalamNews reports.

The minister said that the mistakes made by Afghanistan and Iraq will
not occur in Iran.

Vahidi also noted that the US and Israeli sanctions against Iran to
stop its nuclear program demonstrate poor policy.

Tehran warned that it may close the strategic Hormuz Strait, an oil
transport route.

The Washington Institute for Middle East Policy said on September 11,
2008, that Iran will take proportional actions against US aggression.
US Admiral Michael Mullen said that war with Iran would be a
catastrophe for Israel.
