Putin demands acceleration of construction of high-speed railways

It is necessary to accelerate the commissioning of new high-speed

railways and provide additional routes, Prime Minister Vladimir Putin
told the International Railway Forum in Sochi on Friday, RIA Novosti
reports.

He reiterated that a high-speed rail link is already operating on the

Moscow-St Petersburg, Moscow-Nizhny Novgorod and St.
Petersburg-Helsinki routes.

Putin also reminded the forum that the high-speed communication would
link Moscow and the 2014 Olympic capital - Sochi.
