Rostov nuclear power plant to launch third energy block in 2013

The Rostov nuclear power plant will launch its third energy block in
2013, the director general of the Nizhny Novgorod engineering company
"Atomenergoproyekt" Valery Limarenko said, RIA Novosti reports.


The Kalininskaya nuclear power plant will be launched in September
2011. It will be synchronized with the grid in November, Limarenko
said at the Atomexpo-2011 international forum.


About 250 million rubles will be spent on construction of the third
and fourth energy blocks in 2011.


The Rostov nuclear power plant is a subsidiary of the Rosenergoatom
concern. It is located on the coast of the Tsimlyansky water
reservoir, 13.5 km from Volgodonsk. The first energy block was
launched in 2001, it has a VVER-1000 reactor with an output of 1000
MW. Block N2 was launched in December 2009.
