First visit to Baku -4

On May 6, 2011, we arrived in Baku. One of my favourite famous quotations is “Do not become fascinated, in order to avoid disillusionment”. However, I was charmed by Baku at first sight and realized that there would be no disillusionment. Baku is the most beautiful city I’ve ever seen. The cleanliness, sand-colored houses, washed sidewalks, fountains and an unimaginable amount of greenery all delighted me. The city authorities take care of the greenery.
The inhabitants of Baku deserve being mentioned specially. I was enraptured by their shining eyes, kind faces and openness. Walking along the seafront, I noticed that it is a pleasure for me to look in their eyes. I also saw that the residents of Baku are as hospitable as they are considered to be. They would kill their last lamb for a guest. I was pleasantly surprised that all people I met during the visit knew the Russian language. We got acquainted with the students of the Baku subsidiary of MSU, who came to see our performance.
Azerbaijanis love and revere their native land. We thank them for their hospitality and cordiality.
