Heavy rain damages infrastructure in Mstkheta-Mtianeti and Kakheti regions of Georgia

Georgia cites the administration of the Mtskheta-Mtianeti and Khakheti
regions.
The River Aragvi burst its banks, submerging the villages of Arashenda
and Akhalsofeli (Mtskhetsky District). A bridge was destroyed in the
village of Shankevani, the Governor of Mstkheta-Mtianeti, Givi
Amirkhanashvili, said.
Problems occurred in the Gudamakari mountain area, where several
villages were cut off. About 100 cubic meters of firewood were lost.
Machines are currently clearing the damage.
The head of the Sagaredzho District of Kakheti Region, Giya
Chalatashvili, said that gorges, the central road and housing were
submerged.
