Russia starts New Year with Covid-19 cases below 20,000 per day

On the first day of 2022, the incidence of coronavirus in Russia was below the conditional threshold of 20,000 detected cases of infection per day, amounting to 19,751 cases.

During the day, 847 people died from the coronavirus, 33,144 people recovered.

In Moscow, 2,472 people got sick on New Year's Eve, in St. Petersburg - 1,534, in the Moscow region - 1,271. Apart from these regions, in no other region, daily incidence exceeded 500 cases of infection.

In the Kuban region, on December 31-January 1, 496 infections were registered, in the Stavropol region - 286, in Dagestan - 104, in Kabardino-Balkaria - 90, in Adygea - 80, in North Ossetia - 71, in Ingushetia - 67, in Karachay-Cherkessia - 66, in Chechnya - 57.

Thus, by the beginning of 2022, for almost two years of the pandemic in Russia, 10,519,733 cases of coronavirus infection were recorded. 9,497,063 people recovered, 309,707 people died.
