Kazakh authorities suspect collusion in domestic liquefied gas market

The Kazakh authorities see signs of a price conspiracy among the largest sellers of liquefied gas in the republic, the Khabar-24 TV channel reports.

Among the companies that fell under suspicion are Kazmunaigas, Kazgermunai, CNPC-AktobeMunaiGas and Kazakhoil.

"There are signs of price collusion and abuse of dominant market position in their actions," the message reads.

If the companies are proven guilty, they will be fined. We are talking about price increases over the course of 2021. "If initially, this price was 67,000 tenge per ton, then by the end of the year, it increased to more than 100,000 per ton," the representative of the Agency for the Protection and Development of Competition of Kazakhstan said on the air.
