Turkey registers 75,564 daily COVID-19 cases

Turkey on Thursday reported 75,564 new COVID-19 cases, raising its tally of infections to 10,271,240, according to its health ministry.

The death toll from the virus in Turkey rose by 153 to 84,278, while 51,675 more people recovered in the last 24 hours.

A total of 410,116 tests were conducted over the past day, it said.

Turkey has started mass COVID-19 vaccination on Jan. 14, 2021, after the authorities approved the emergency use of the Chinese Sinovac vaccine.

More than 57 million people have received their first doses of the COVID-19 vaccine, while over 52 million had got their second doses. Turkey has so far administered 138.32 million doses including the booster jabs.
