Monument to Armenian-Turkish friendship dismantled in Kars

The monument to Armenian-Turkish friendship, which Prime Minister of Turkey Erdogan called “awful”, no longer exists, news.am reports.

The last part of the Humanity monument, built by the former mayor of Kars Naif Alibeyoglu, was dismantled in two days.

Several years ago Alibeyoglu initiated the building of a huge monument to express the idea of peace and friendship between the Armenian and Turkish peoples. However, he failed to become Kars’s mayor in 2009, and now the unfinished monument has been taken down.
