Russia’s population decreased by 0.7 mln people

By 2022, the number of Russian citizens amounted to 145,478,097 people, Rosstat published the relevant data.

According to the agency, the number of residents of the country as of January 1, 2022, amounted to 145,478,097 people (the previous year, it was 146,171,015 citizens). It is noted that this information does not take into account the data collected during the last census.

In addition, the natural decline in 2021 in the country amounted to 1.04 mln people. 1.4 mln babies were born, and 2.44 mln people died.
