Residents of Batken return after flair-up on Kyrgyz-Tajik border

Kyrgyz citizens living near the border with Tajikistan began to return to their homes after the armed flair-up on the border area on January 27.

"Yesterday and today, the head of the State Committee for National Security,  Kamchibek Tashiev, carried out work, the difficult situation was resolved. The [conflicting] parties held two meetings, troops were withdrawn, police officers are conducting joint patrols, the situation is under control, 11,000 citizens return gradually to their homes,” the Akipress agency quotes the Minister of Emergency Situations of Kyrgyzstan, Boobek Azhikeev, as saying.
