Kremlin: Kiev keeps proposing Zelensky-Putin talks
Read on the website Vestnik KavkazaMoscow keeps receiving Kiev’s proposals for talks between Presidents Vladimir Putin of Russia and Vladimir Zelensky of Ukraine, Kremlin Spokesman Dmitry Peskov told reporters.
Ukrainian Foreign Minister Dmitry Kuleba said earlier that Kiev had long been seeking to arrange a direct conversation between Zelensky and Putin.
"Kiev keeps making proposals like these to Moscow," Peskov said, when asked if Russia had received such proposals from the Ukrainian authorities.
He explained that consultations on the issue currently involved "talks between the foreign ministers that are being held in Antalya." "Let us wait for their results to figure out what they agree on," the Kremlin spokesman noted in response to a question if the top diplomats might make a decision concerning talks between the two countries’ presidents.
A diplomatic forum is taking place in Turkey’s Antalya on Thursday. Russia’s Foreign Minister Sergey Lavrov is holding a meeting with his Ukrainian counterpart Dmitry Kuleba on the sidelines of the event. The meeting also involves Turkish top diplomat Mevlut Cavusoglu.
