"Mir" card may be accepted in Venezuela

Moscow and Caracas are exploring opportunities to connect Venezuela to the Mir payment system, Russian Ambassador to Venezuela Sergey Melik-Bagdasarov said, TASS reports.

"Venezuela’s connection to the Mir payment system and the ability to use such a card here would be useful for the tourism industry. The parties are working on steps in this direction, but it’s too early to talk about specific dates", the ambassador said in an interview with the agency.
