German President and his wife test positive for COVID-19

German President Frank-Walter Steinmeier and his wife Elke Büdenbender have tested positive for COVID-19. This was reported today in the office of the head of state.

"An express test and a PCR test on Tuesday showed a positive result. Elke Büdenbender was also infected. The symptoms are mild", the statement said.

The office also noted that currently Steinmeier and his wife quarantine at home. "Everyone who was in close contact has been informed", they said.
