Russian tourist declared brain dead after alcohol poisoning in Turkey

A Russian tourist who was poisoned by illegal alcohol she drank during a yacht tour in Bodrum at the beginning of May was pronounced brain dead on Monday, Hurriyet Daily News reports.

Viktoria Nikoloyeva, aged 22, was among a group of 14 tourists who were poisoned from the illegally manufactured alcohol they consumed.

Nikoloyeva was being kept at an intensive care unit at the Mediterranean Hospital before losing all brain function on Monday.
